Hi Friend,
We hope you’ll join us next week for a presentation by Dr. Jane O’Sullivan, who was featured in the December 2023 issue [[link removed]] of Population Connection magazine. Dr. O’Sullivan will be joining us from Australia, where she’s an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, an Executive Member of Sustainable Population Australia, and a Co-convener of The Overpopulation Project.
Dr. O'Sullivan will discuss her research, which questions the reliability of the population projections made by the United Nations Population Division and other large demographic agencies. She examines the reasons demographers have assumed that high-fertility countries would see more rapid fertility declines than have actually occurred over the past two decades. And she explains how these fertility assumptions have resulted in projections that consistently underestimate future population size.
You are invited to join us for the presentation, Dispelling Demographic Delusions, taking place next Thursday, February 22 nd , at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.
