Bloody images of children in Gaza. Wars that spread but never end. A new brand of fascism proudly on the march. Mass shootings so common they no longer shock us. Evidence of climate breakdown all around, but Big Oil still calling the shots.
It’s gotten to the point where psychologists are coming up with names for it, like “headline anxiety” and “media saturation overload.” Believe me, I know the symptoms well.
However, as tempting as it is to tune it all out, we must not. In this pivotal moment in history, we have an opportunity — indeed, the moral obligation — to stay engaged, speak out, and demand change.
