Hi John,
With President’s Day approaching, I can’t help but think about the many women who have gone before us and blazed a trail in running to be the President of the United States. Women like Shirley Chisholm, Victoria Woodhull, and most recently within our generation— Hillary Clinton, were more than qualified to hold the highest office in our land. However, we broke the glass ceiling as a Country when President Joe Biden selected former Senator, Kamala Harris, as the Vice President of his administration in 2021.
Although we celebrate that accomplishment as a Country, there’s still so much more work for us to do to see a female President. At Ruth’s List, our goal is to recruit, train, and elect Democratic pro-choice women down the ballot, but it’s a collective effort— one in which YOU play a part in.
So, as we acknowledge Monday as President’s Day, I challenge you to reimagine a world where Democratic pro-choice women run in every level of government. To do that, we need your financial partnership to assist us in recruiting and training a diverse group of women ready for the challenge. Can we count on your support? |
