Voting is easier with these resources!

We joined transit advocates around the region to bring you two Transportation Candidate Questionnaires! We reached out to candidates in San Francisco and across the Bay Area to learn what their positions are on public transportation, street safety, and mobility. Read the submitted questionnaires below before voting for the Primary Election on March 5, 2024.

January Membership Meeting recap and survey: Help us brainstorm this year's campaigns and activities!

Thank you to all our members who joined us for our member meeting last month. It was great meeting so many of you face-to-face and engaging in discussion about all of your ideas on how to improve public transit in San Francisco. We spent the majority of the meeting brainstorming different campaigns and activities for SFTR members to get involved in. One of the goals of the meeting was to better understand how SFTR staff can work with you—our members—to take action on the causes that matter most. We heard a lot of great suggestions, from the desire for more member meetings & socials, to specific campaigns and activities that could improve transit or promote urban joy.

Whether you were able to make it to the meeting or not, we could use your help!  Please complete this interest form to indicate your interest in getting involved in various member-led projects that were identified in the membership meeting. We'll use your responses to reach out to those interested in leading projects, connect other like-minded members, and get the ball rolling on some of your excellent ideas.

If you missed the meeting (or just feel like reminiscing), feel free to explore the digitized version of our activity here to see all the campaigns and activities that were proposed.

Let us know how you want to be involved here!

Thank you to our former Executive Director, Vinita Goyal!

We would like to say a special thank you to Vinita Goyal, SF Transit Riders' Executive Director since 2021. Under Vinita's leadership, SFTR has grown in our advocacy efforts, our collaborative partnerships, and our understanding of true equity. We wish her the best on her next journey!

As an organization, we are continuing to work toward our goal of centering the voices of riders in the city to fund a public transit system that is fast, safe, reliable, and easy to use. We are actively in the process of transitioning leadership to find a new director who shares those same priorities.
