It’s hard to write this email — because tragically — it’s no longer hard to believe yesterday’s events happened.
Six years after the horrifying events in Parkland, we witnessed another tragic mass shooting. This time at a Super Bowl parade where one person died and 22 people were injured —
including 11 children.
What followed was a typical storm of social posts and media coverage: outrage from the left, feigned thoughts and prayers from the right…and ultimately no real action taken.
But why?
Why is America the ONLY wealthy country in the entire world where gun violence is the leading cause of death for children? Why does America allow assault weapons literally meant to tear a human body apart during war into our neighborhoods? Why is it that our families cannot go to a grocery store, movie theater, middle school, concert, college, office, temple, church, yoga studio, bowling alley, high school, synagogue, restaurant, hospital, or pre-school without the all too real fear of being shot? Why don’t we DO something?
The answer? It’s because of the extreme GOP and because kids don't have a voice in American politics.
That's why we need you to step up right now and chip in $10 to help replace this extreme GOP with leaders who will VOTE for common sense gun laws that save the lives of our children.
There ARE solutions to this problem. Real ones. Easy ones. Ones that most Americans support. Ones that could save children from suffering horrifying deaths and injury.
