John --
Yesterday, the Kansas City
community gathered to celebrate their Super Bowl win. What should've
been a day of joy turned into yet another senseless act of gun
violence. Exactly six years after the Parkland school
shooting, we witnessed our country’s 48th mass shooting in
2024 alone.
Even with 800 police officers in
attendance, two individuals with guns were still able to cause
unbelievable harm to yet another community. If this
type of violence can happen at yesterday's parade, it can happen
anywhere. We’ve seen it play
out far too many times and we’ve had
enough.

Angered by the epidemic of gun
violence across our country and concern for the safety of our
children, I started the San Francisco chapter of Moms Demand Action
for Gun Sense in America over a decade ago to demand more from our
lawmakers. As a member of the Board of Supervisors, I championed
California’s first ghost gun ban, strengthened our gun violence
restraining order laws, and called out the NRA for exactly what it is
– a domestic terrorist organization. Now, I’m running for the State
Assembly to continue this fight – we can’t afford to
wait.
We are less than 3 weeks away from our March 5th
primary election. Can we count on you to join us in
speaking with our neighbors about gun violence prevention, and what we
can do to make our neighborhoods safer for
everyone?
California still has so much work to do to combat the prevalence of
gun violence in our communities. It’s up to us to continue pushing back,
demanding change, and yelling out: ENOUGH!
Thank you for standing with us in
this fight.
Sincerely,

Catherine
