Fight for $15
**************************
John,
How are you holding up?
I'll be honest: I'm scared. Scared of this virus. Scared of having to go to work in public to keep a roof over my head. Scared all over again about the problems I had before coronavirus -- low pay, bad healthcare, no paid sick leave -- getting even worse.
But you and I are not alone. These are the times we need to come together -- maybe not in the same room -- and support each other. Tell us your story: what does this crisis mean to you and your family? >> [link removed]
This virus doesn't care about our skin color. It doesn't care if you missed last month's rent or were able to pay for a second home. But for folks like me making $3.10/hr and relying on tips for the rest, it could be devastating.
If I don't go to work, I don't get paid. It could mean skipping my medication. It could even mean my family out on the streets. That's my story.
Right now, leaders in states and in Washington are putting together a rescue plan for our economy and our lives. And they need to hear from people like you and me: tell your story to show the real-life problems we're facing. >> [link removed]
When we fight together, we win. It's how we've won $15/hr, and how we'll take it national. And it's how we'll get through this crisis.
In Solidarity,
