During Monday night’s debate, Steve Garvey made an alarming remark about what he perceives to be the greatest threat to our democracy.

Steve Garvey claimed that the greatest threat to our democracy is “deconstruction of the Constitution. Packing the court. Doing away with the filibuster.”

 

My thoughts? **That’s rich coming from someone who supported Donald Trump*****twice*****and would fall in line with Republican Senators like Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, and Lindsey Graham supporting the Trump agenda. **

 

John, the single greatest threat to our democracy is the twice-impeached, criminally indicted former President who incited an insurrection on our Capitol. This isn’t a difficult question to answer.

 

Donald Trump packed the Supreme Court with three far-right justices, with the help of Mitch McConnell. 

 

As I pointed out to Garvey on the debate stage, this is why millions of Americans lost their right to reproductive freedom. Why air and water quality regulations are being struck down. Why voting rights are being stripped away. Why states with common sense gun safety laws are seeing the Supreme Court strike them down.

 

**Protecting our democracy means restoring power to voters, not further empowering reactionary justices appointed by Donald Trump.**

 

I have bold plans to fix what is broken on the Supreme Court. To restore the balance of the court. To institute term limits and establish a code of ethics for justices. 

 

To fix our democracy after Donald Trump bent and broke the rules to get his way, we need a Senator who has the plans and the experience to defend our Constitution. **That’s why I’m running for the Senate, but I need your help:**
