Dear friends,

Palestinian journalists killed, wounded, and prevented from working without any possibility of safe refuge, the toll from four months of war in Gaza Strip on journalism has been horrifying. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemns the Israeli army’s eradication of Palestinian journalism and the right to information in Gaza, and calls on governments and international organisations to put pressure on Israel to end the slaughter.

At least 84 journalists have been killed in Gaza in the past 124 days, of whom at least 20 in the course of their work or because of it. Day after day in an interminable war, journalism has been decimated by constant Israeli strikes from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip. The journalists who have survived these four months continue to endure hell on a daily basis. In inhumane conditions, they suffer shortages of all kinds, including equipment shortages and frequent media blackouts.

After filing two complaints with the International Criminal Court and issuing repeated appeals to governments and international organisations,
RSF is once again addressing a determined call to the UN Security Council to urgently enforce its resolution on the protection of journalists.

Without your support we could not undertake these actions to protect the Palestinian journalists in Gaza, who display indescribable courage as they continue to cover this war.
