Concerned about inflation? Join the 88% of voters across party lines:
Top of mind for voters concerned about inflation is the cost of food and groceries (57%), followed by rent or home prices (19%) and the cost of utilities and home energy prices (12%).
When Data for Progress asked voters about the causes of inflation, many voters thought that food manufacturers were to blame.
Forty-six percent of voters blamed corporate food manufacturers, while 40% found grocery store price-gouging to be behind the skyrocketing prices of food. And these voters want them to be held accountable.
More than 4 in 5 voters support “requiring companies to label products that have been reduced in size or weight” to end the practice known as “shrinkflation” where manufacturers charge consumers the same amount for fewer products.
