10 YEARS OF ACA and Trump won't back down on lawsuit

John,

I am running for Attorney General to put the people of Montana first - and I will fight for your rights in court when necessary! And at this time, we need a proven health care advocate now more than ever.

I started my professional career 2 decades ago as a registered nurse, eventually specializing in neonatal intensive care. I sometimes say I “used to be” a nurse but it is really “once a nurse always a nurse.” That training and passion to help people and improve health never goes away. I earned a law degree because I wanted to do more to help people. While enforcing our laws as a deputy county attorney, I gained additional expertise as a Master of Public Health. In the pandemic we are facing, the multiple layers of experience I bring to addressing these problems could not be more appropriate.

This week marks the 10-year anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act, opening the doors for millions of Americans to receive health care coverage. It's how I was able to pass Medicaid Expansion in Montana twice - with the help of so many other advocates, legislators, and citizens - so that Montanans can access affordable health care.

But Trump announced this week that he's still moving ahead with his lawsuit to end the ACA. Especially in the midst of a public health crisis, having more people with health insurance has never been more important. But the Trump administration is putting partisan politics above people's health.

Since the federal government is not protecting our rights, this fight has moved to the states. I will fight for your rights as Montana’s next Attorney General above all else.

There’s never been a more important time to elect strong health care advocates at the state level. As your Attorney General, I will always protect a person’s ability to receive quality medical care. Will you stand with me and pitch in $5 to help us win this race?

As a nurse and legislator, I know how important access to health care is and have fought for it. I am the only candidate for Attorney General who has fought for your rights to health care by working across party lines and making sure you have the laws necessary to protect your rights
In times like these, it's never been more important to ensure that everyone has access to quality health care.

So to mark the 10-year anniversary, help me spread my message and fight for the right to have decent, quality medical care. Pitch in $5 so we can ensure a health care advocate is in the Montana Attorney General's office.
