As we move into this new year, Sunrise DC is looking forward to building and strengthening our local DC community. Mutual aid is key to our goal of creating a just and equitable world, especially when the government is not meeting those needs. By supporting mutual aid, you are helping to build our organizing capacity and political power in the city to push for the Green New Deal! So, we would like your help! We are raising funds to support our awesome community partner Ward 1 Mutual Aid
, a wonderful organization made up of inspired volunteers, youth groups, and tenant unions like Baldwin House. They run a monthly table in Ward 1 with cooked meals, clothes, and weather supplies. Right now, they make do with donations and canvassing, but additional funds from Sunrise would allow them to invest in extreme weather supplies like hand warmers, tents, fans, ice packs, and umbrellas. This is crucial in the context of the climate crisis!
