Trump just attacked Adam personally on the heels of Monday’s debate — but
this is bigger than just Adam. After calling Adam a “slimeball,” “low
life,” “shifty,” and more, he then tried to cast doubt on California’s
primary election.

Trump repeated the same election lies he’s spread since 2016 about

Here’s what’s at the root of Trump’s long con against California’s
election integrity:

It hurt Trump’s ego to lose the popular vote to Hillary Clinton in 2016,
and he has never gotten over it.

He tweeted weeks after the 2016 election that there was “Serious voter
fraud” in California.

During a 2018 rally he claimed that, “In many places, like California, the
same person votes many times…Millions and millions of people.”

He told Meet the Press in 2019, “There were a lot of votes cast that I
don’t believe…California admitted to a million votes” during the 2016
election.

He told Newsmax in 2021 that California’s Republican recall of Governor
Newsom was “probably rigged.”

This is who Donald Trump is. A con man, a coward, and a bully. And his
long con of undermining confidence in California elections is part of the
same strategy that Trump used to incite the January 6 riot and Capitol
insurrection.
