The fact is, the Republican Party, led by Donald Trump and supported by NJ Rep. Jeff Van Drew, has damaged our democracy by sowing distrust and spreading misinformation. Trump refused the peaceful transfer of power after losing the 2020 presidential election, and the Republican Party was happy to support his attempt to overturn the results. Their lies culminated in the January 6th insurrection – one of the darkest days in modern American history.

Despite facing 91 felony counts , including charges for attempting to subvert the 2020 election results, Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee for the Republican presidential primary, confirming what we already know to be true: that we’re now up against a political party that refuses to protect our democratic system.
