It was history in the making and your Colorado Republican Party was at the center of it.

It was an honor to jump into this fight to help defend President Donald J. Trump's right to be on our ballot and, more importantly, the right of voters to support him.

As a service to you, here's a comprehensive recap of last week's oral arguments heard by the Supreme Court regarding the eligibility of President Trump to be listed on the Colorado ballot for the upcoming Super Tuesday election.

And having witnessed the proceedings firsthand, I am pleased to share insights and predictions regarding the outcome.

As you are aware, the case revolves around the interpretation of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and its application to President Trump. 

Throughout the oral arguments, Supreme Court justices scrutinized the constitutional nuances and implications of Colorado's decision to remove Trump from the Republican primary ballot.
 

Notably, the justices posed probing questions that reflected their concerns about the broader implications of the case. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson questioned the absence of the term "president" in the enumerated list of Section 3, suggesting potential ambiguity in the interpretation.

Meanwhile, Justice Elena Kagan expressed skepticism regarding the authority of a single state to determine presidential eligibility, emphasizing the national significance of the issue.

Chief Justice John Roberts and other justices underscored the gravity of the decision, highlighting the potential repercussions of allowing states to unilaterally disqualify candidates based on political motivations. The prospect of disrupting the electoral process and undermining the democratic principles of free and fair elections weighed heavily in the justices' deliberations.

Based on the tone and direction of the oral arguments, it is evident that the majority of the court appears inclined to favor the Colorado Republican Party and President Trump's appeal.

Justices demonstrated a cautious approach, recognizing the complexities of the case and the constitutional principles at stake. While the final decision rests with the Supreme Court, I am optimistic about the prospects of a favorable outcome for our Party and to preserving the integrity of the electoral process.
