Happy Valentine’s Day, John.

Throughout my decade in the Senate, I’ve kept a core tenet to my work: To build a more just, loving nation.

It’s no secret that in recent years, rage and vitriol have become one of the most common currencies in the political economy.

It generates clicks on articles about the latest outrage.

It drives donations from a desire for political retribution and to defeat your enemies instead of articulating a positive vision that everyone can rally behind.

America needs more love — and it certainly needs more justice.
