The other day I saw some adorable heart-shaped cookies at the bakery, and the second I saw them I knew my daughter would lovvveee them. They didn’t have artificial colors and were even made with organic ingredients…Win Win! 

Then I checked the ingredients list, and there it was…

NATURAL FLAVORS.

Red Flag!

These “flavors” are in everything, aren’t they?!?

The food industry adds natural flavors to nearly everything they produce, and you might not think a thing of it…but this ingredient isn’t as harmless as it sounds. 

There’s a multi billion dollar flavor industry dedicated to creating chemicals that make processed food taste like…real food…and actually even better than that. 

They could make styrofoam taste irresistible! 

Not only do natural flavors make fake food taste incredible, they also give it a special "kick" that keeps you coming back for more and more. Similar to MSG.

The chemicals that flavor manufacturers engineer are contributing to what David Kessler (former head of the FDA) calls a “food carnival” in your mouth. 

The inability to stop eating because the flavors are synthesized to trick your mind and your taste buds.

Why do Americans eat more calories than any other industrialized nation? 

It’s not because we have more money or are more hungry. It’s because our food supply is chemically enhanced with "Natural Flavors". It’s EVERYWHERE and we are being TARGETED.

And it gets even worse…

Natural flavors need to be preserved and stabilized, along with emulsifiers to help them mix into a product. 

They contain upwards of 100 ingredients like:

Propylene Glycol

Polysorbate 80

BHT

BHA...all considered “incidental additives” not required to be labeled on a product.

A governmental or independent agency does not approve or oversee the safety of these flavors either. 

A flavor industry trade group has assembled their own “independent” panel of scientists who approve new flavors as safe to use in food. These scientists are paid by the trade group (who gets their funding from flavor companies). The fox is guarding the hen house! 

Crazy isn’t it?

This is why Natural Flavors are listed as one of the “Terrible 10 Ingredients” in my new book, Food Babe Family

This is also why when I developed the ingredient standards at Truvani, I ensured that none of our products will ever contain Natural Flavors. 

Thankfully, there are a few other brands with the same standards, but it’s a rarity! 

Natural flavors are nearly impossible to avoid, but that’s because most people don’t know the truth. Companies will keep getting away with this for as long as we let them. 

We need to get word out about Natural Flavors. That is the best way to influence companies to stop adding them to everything. Here’s how you can help:
