john, six years ago on this day, a shooter with a military-grade assault rifle killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Since then, Republicans have continuously blocked legislation that would make our schools, our places of worship, and our grocery stores safer.
Countless lives are impacted by gun violence every day. It’s an epidemic of violence in the United States of America.
But because of the tight grip the gun lobby has on GOP members of Congress, we still haven’t changed anything.
We can’t afford to wait any longer. Too many communities have suffered from gun violence. Too many American families’ lives have been shattered.
Republicans will continue to use the filibuster to stop any gun reform legislation from passing. We must abolish the filibuster, pass common-sense laws, and fight to end the epidemic of gun violence.
Enough is enough. Add your name here and join me in demanding that the Senate end the filibuster now so we can make progress, reduce gun violence, and help create safer communities for us all.
Today is a tragic reminder of the cost of our inaction in addressing the gun violence epidemic. I won’t quit the fight to make a real difference to keep people safe and prevent families from suffering because of gun violence.
Thank you for raising your voice,
Tina
