Hi there, friend, and happy Valentine's Day!
Today, I'm feeling very, very lucky for all of the love in my life. I have the most amazing husband. Robert is kind, unbelievably caring, and always so supportive. Raising our beautiful and compassionate children together, Willow, Jude, and Siena, has been the greatest gift. And throughout my entire life, my mom and my sisters have been my rock, guiding me, believing in me, and surrounding Robert, the kids, and me with unconditional love.
The love I'm grateful for stretches far beyond my family. I've had the chance to build my home in the place I truly love most. Florida is unlike anywhere else in the world: It's warm, bustling with life and music, and all so, so beautifully green. The diverse communities who live here are even warmer than the weather. They're welcoming, friendly, and fiercely proud to call this state their home.
It's been a privilege to spend my life giving back to Florida. I've helped protect the Everglades. I expanded access to health care. I’ve led efforts to pass gun safety reforms. And I fought tirelessly for my community as the first South American immigrant elected to Congress. Now, I'm running to serve this state that I love in the United States Senate.
This campaign is about a lot of important issues, but at the end of the day, it really does come down to love, as corny as it may sound. I love Florida and I'm fighting for the leadership and the fair policies that our families deserve. I'll lead with love, compassion, and a listening ear in Washington — not the division, extremism, and partisanship that have defined Rick Scott's time in office.
Thank you for being a part of this campaign, believing in leadership guided by love, and fighting for the state I love so much. I am so appreciative of all that you do.
With gratitude, and of course, love,
Debbie
P.S. Unlike Rick Scott, I'm running a truly grassroots campaign. And that means that I'm counting on small-dollar donations from people like you. If you have anything extra to spare today, could you chip in $6 — about the cost of a bag of mini Twix, my favorite candy — to help me win this race and flip Florida blue? Polling data shows a tied race, but I need your help to pull ahead.
