Hi,

The five richest men in the world (a list which includes Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos) have more than DOUBLED their wealth since 2020.1

Their collective wealth shot up from $400 billion to over $800 billion. All while inequality continues to widen. The top 1% of American earners now control more wealth than the nation’s entire middle class.2 So, while American workers are struggling to pay all of their bills, Jeff Bezos watches his billions rise and rise. We could even see the first trillionaire in the next decade.

Congress has to step in and finally make the ultra-rich pay their fair share of taxes.

Sign the petition: Tax the rich now!

As working Americans get ready to file taxes, the ultra-wealthy are getting ready to exploit tax loopholes. The American tax system benefits the rich instead of the rest of us. We need Congress to raise taxes on the rich to fund health care, education, Social Security, and the fight against climate change.

A few ultra-wealthy individuals owning so much of America’s wealth is unacceptable. And this level of inequality is unsustainable in a democracy. When billionaires’ wealth is taxed, we can put billions of dollars towards critical government services that all Americans need.

By ensuring that the ultra-wealthy pay what they truly owe, we can build a livable society for working people with better health care and education, and a stronger social safety net.

Sign the petition: Tell Congress to raise taxes on the super-rich! It’s time they pay their fair share.

Thanks for taking action,

Joey and the team at Demand Progress
