After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June two years ago, Republicans have been working overtime to dismantle reproductive health care state by state. As of today, nearly one in three American women live in a state where abortion is banned or mostly banned.
- Abortion banned or mostly banned: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin
- Abortion banned after 12-15 weeks: Nebraska, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida
- Abortion bans currently blocked: Iowa, Utah, Wyoming
But here's the thing: Republicans aren't prepared for an organized and unified pro-choice response. We know that abortion access wins elections, and the best way to defend access is by supporting and electing Democratic pro-choice women to every level of elected office.
Thanks to this community, we protected abortion access for tens of millions of Americans in 2023. Now that the election year is in full swing, we need all hands on deck to do it again.
