Republican representatives narrowly won their second attempt at impeachment in a 214-213 vote. This makes Mayorkas the first sitting cabinet secretary in U.S. history to be forcibly removed.

World leaders are meeting in Cairo to push for a ceasefire in Gaza. President Joe Biden said he would do "everything possible" to make a ceasefire occur.

Trump asks SCOTUS to block ruling allowing for criminal prosecution

Trump asked the Supreme Court to block a lower court's ruling that allows him to be criminally prosecuted for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump insisted that presidents should be protected from prosecution and that a trial would "radically disrupt" his bid for reelection.

Senate’s foreign aid package passes

Despite warnings from the House that the bill would never succeed, the Senate passed the foreign aid package in a 70-to-29 vote. The measure was stripped down to $95 billion after the $118 billion version failed in the Senate last week.
