Friends,

Earlier this week, Governor Inslee issued a "stay-at-home" order to help prevent the further spread of COVID-19. This is critical and should be taken very seriously. I know there has been uncertainty regarding what this order entails, so I wanted to take a moment to tell you more about it.

Non-essential businesses will be closed and this order will be in effect until at least April 8.

Here's what's permitted under this "stay-at-home" order:

- Going grocery shopping and ordering take-out from restaurants
- Attending medical appointments and making pharmacy trips
- Outdoor activities such as taking a walk, going for a run, biking, and gardening
- Going to gas stations, banks, laundromats, convenience stores, and food banks
- Going to work if you're a part of any "essential business"

Here's what's not permitted under this "stay-at-home" order:

- Participating in any in-person leisure, hobby, or social clubs
- Attending or playing in sports games and practices
- Going to weddings or funerals
- Attending religious services
- Visiting museums, theaters, art galleries, or fundraisers
- Going to concerts, festivals, or parades
- Working out at a gym or fitness center
- Going to nail salons, barbers, or tattoo parlors
- Going out to bars or eating at restaurants

If you engage in any of the permitted activities, please remember to stay six feet away from other people. For more information, read this helpful article from the Seattle Times.

If you are a person at higher risk for serious complications from COVID-19, strongly consider not even engaging in the permitted outings. This is an appropriate time to call on a neighbor to pick up groceries or medications for you. Or use a delivery service. The less time you spend near other people, the safer you will be. And, when your kind neighbor leaves the groceries at your front door, remember to wipe off all items with a household cleaner before bringing them into your home. Many hands handle items on store shelves, and you should be careful.

If you have questions about COVID-19, please call the Washington State Department of Health's call center at 1-800-525-0127 or visit the CDC's website.

Thanks,

Kim
