Friend –
Today marks six years since the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Seventeen Americans were killed that day – seventeen lives lost, seventeen families torn apart, and a community that will never be the same.
Every day, gun violence devastates our communities and strikes at the core of who we are as a nation.
The gun violence epidemic is a uniquely American problem – it doesn’t have to be like this.
What happened in Parkland changed the tide as young people stood up and demanded better. They called on us to take on the NRA and keep our neighbors safe. They marched for their lives and they held our leaders accountable.
We must keep fighting to make sure everyone feels safe in our schools, our churches, our grocery stores, and our communities. The time to act is right now.
Sign my petition to demand federal legislation to end gun violence.
I’m running for Congress to keep our communities safe and take on the scourge of gun violence. I’ll stand up to the NRA and join President Biden in demanding commonsense policies like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban. And I promise that I will never stop fighting for what’s right.
Let’s get to work.
