Dear John,
Valentine’s Day is an annual celebration of love, friendship and admiration, and this is all what your support means to me and what has sustained me in my work to strengthen our democracy and build a better future for our children and theirs.
Last week ballots arrived in mailboxes, beginning our all-important democratic exercise across California and the country. I urge you to vote in all of the races on your ballot, because our democracy depends on it. A race I’m watching closely is the contest to succeed Supervisor Joe Simitian on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
I wholeheartedly support Mountain View City Councilmember and two-time Mayor Margaret Abe-Koga for this position.
I’ve known Margaret for over 30 years. She is an incredibly hardworking, intelligent and effective public servant. Her work has earned her the support of over 150 local electeds and numerous nonprofit, business and community leaders and organizations. They trust Margaret to make wise decisions for all of us and so do I.
The Mercury News endorsed Margaret and said, “Abe-Koga is by far the best choice in this eclectic collection of candidates. She comes with a broad portfolio of local and regional government experience, all of which should position her well for the challenges of the county Board of Supervisors.”
I couldn’t agree more. Margaret’s extensive government background coupled with her lived experience as a working mother, daughter of immigrants, breast cancer survivor and former small business owner make her my choice.
I’m so proud to support Margaret and contribute to her campaign, and hope you will, too. You can contribute to Margaret online here, OR by check.*
Please vote and have a very happy Valentine’s Day!
With a heart overflowing with gratitude,
Anna
