Hi there, John!
This is Kathianne, Brian’s wife. Today I’m sending you lots of love for your support to Brian’s campaign. Whether it’s been donating money, sharing social media posts, displaying a yard sign, buying merchandise (did you see the tote and tee I designed?), or volunteering, it all helps. And we are so grateful.
This year, I want to give Brian an extra special Valentine while he’s hard at work on the campaign trail. Today isn't just Valentine's Day, it's also Brian’s last FEC filing deadline before the primary on March 5 — and his team has a goal of raising $100,000.
Help me give Brian a donation boost before tonight's FEC deadline; donate $14 to help make sure his campaign has all the resources to win on March 5 >>
Since it’s Valentine’s Day, let me share a story about the love of my life.
On July 4th, 2001, I walked into a bar in Boston and my life changed forever. (Yes, we met in a bar, and during Brian’s first week of surgical residency.) When we first started dating, Brian was working 120+ hours a week. NINE more years of surgical training followed in two different states. Somehow we made it work. It’s been A LOT of alone time for me with him working long hours and nights, holidays, and weekends.
For the past 22 years, we've built a life together; we got married, adopted our daughter, and moved several times across the country for his career. By the grace of God, we survived everything life’s thrown at us so far but this political stuff is a different beast 😉.
Brian's responsibility to his patients, his sense of duty to our country, and his commitment to building a better world for all families are reasons why I love him. They are also reasons why being married to him can drive me nuts! I ask myself, “Why can’t he take the easy path for once?!” But when Brian believes in the mission, he’s all in. Just like he didn’t hesitate to start a second career at age 28 that took 13 (!) years of rigorous training, he won’t hesitate to throw himself all in with being a Congressman. He believes in the mission of protecting us all from gun violence, health inequities, unsafe abortion laws, and fighting for our country’s democracy.
Brian’s love language is acts of service. His love for our family, our neighbors, and this community is what drives him to serve — as a veteran, trauma surgeon, and a future member of Congress.
I’m so proud of my husband for choosing to Be the Change, and I’m so grateful he has you by his side on this campaign. As we face the FEC filing deadline, I hope you’ll help me send some love to Brian with a donation of $14. Any amount will make a big difference!
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for your support of my husband, and by extension, our family. And have a very Happy Valentine's Day!
With love (and lots of red and pink glitter✨),
Kathianne
