Dear John,

Our next webinar for educators—Teaching Mindful Media Creation—will feature experts from public media station KQED offering guidance and resources for helping students learn about thoughtful, impactful and critical media creation. In this webinar, we’ll share examples of youth-created media and resources for aligning student-led media creation to your practice. This webinar will follow our new panel discussion format, responding directly to the needs of educators.

Register here for the webinar and share your questions here for our co-hosts, and we’ll do our best to answer them in the webinar. The deadline to submit questions is 11:59 p.m. CT on Thursday, February 15. Here’s information about the webinar co-hosts:
  • Rachel Roberson is KQED’s senior program manager for education content and the humanities professional learning lead. Before KQED, she was a middle school English, ELD and social studies teacher leader in San Francisco; Austin, Texas; and overseas. Before teaching, she worked as a newspaper reporter in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Angel Valerio is KQED’s program manager for STEM education professional learning and a secondary science field supervisor for the University of San Francisco’s teacher education program. Before her current roles, Angel was a life science educator, teacher leader and instructional coach in Los Angeles and Oakland, California.
The webinar is set for 3:30 p.m. CT on March 14. Don’t forget to submit your questions!

As always, thanks for everything you do for students.
