Friends,
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Washington workers and small businesses are hurting. They need support now and throughout the crisis.
I became Attorney General to help people.
Last week, approximately nine thousand Washington consumers received checks from my office totaling $17 million -- an average of about $2,000 per consumer. Business consumers also received restitution.
I'm proud that my office could make a small contribution to ease the pain for thousands of families and businesses during this difficult time.
This money is restitution for the unfair prices Washingtonians paid for televisions and computer monitors because foreign manufacturers engaged in a price-fixing conspiracy.
As Attorney General, I'm committed to taking on powerful special interests when they cheat families and businesses and returning the money back to Washingtonians. I'm glad the restitution is going out at a time when it's needed so badly.
But it's not enough.
We need the federal government to provide immediate and ongoing relief to families and small businesses that are hurting during this global pandemic, not simply a bailout of large corporations without strong accountability measures. If you agree with me, I'm asking you to sign this petition and take a stand for Washington. >> [link removed]
Thank you for all you're doing to support your community during this difficult time. We'll get through this together.
Sincerely,
Bob
