Today, I am reaching out with a personal and very heartfelt request that transcends political rhetoric and speaks to the center of our values.
My work in public service has been deeply influenced by the lessons I learned growing up, and it's a journey I didn't walk alone. My sister, Susheela Jayapal, has been my lifelong BFF and my first-ever progressive ally, and now I hope she'll soon be my fellow congresswoman representing OR-03!
But don't just take the word of a proud sister; Susheela's record of service to Oregon truly speaks for itself. As Commissioner for Multnomah County, Susheela has been a leader for affordable housing, mental health care access, support for survivors of domestic violence, and the rights of frontline workers. As our friend Congressman Blumenauer retires, I know Susheela is ready to carry the torch for our values and fight against MAGA Republican chaos.
As a true candidate of the people, Susheela is running a grassroots-fueled campaign that refuses corporate PAC dollars. So today, I'm hoping you'll pitch in what you can to help her win in the upcoming May primary, so this time next year, she'll be working alongside us in DC. I can't stress enough how much her voice is needed!
