U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost, FL House Dems urge solutions for affordable housing
– The Florida Phoenix
John, the housing crisis is personal to me. Personal enough that I just went to the Florida State Capitol myself to demand action – and I’m not stopping there.
Listen, I was priced out of my home while running for Congress, and was houseless for two months. When I made it to Congress and moved to D.C, I was denied from multiple apartment buildings because unfair housing policies tanked my credit. There was no way to win.
And it isn’t just me – this crisis is impacting my entire generation. Americans used to literally buy homes at my age. Now, we can’t even afford to rent an apartment.
Our housing system is clearly broken. But we don’t have to accept broken systems, or wait for Republicans who clearly don’t give a damn to change their tune. Housing IS a human right, and I won’t stop fighting until our basic needs are met.
Trouble is, the same special interests behind this crisis are desperate to keep people like me out of Congress, where we can actually fight back with policy. I need your help to hold this seat and hold them back, so I have to ask:
Will you donate $27 right now to help hit my weekly fundraising goal? Every dollar has the power to keep me fighting for all of us in Congress, and I know we can make actual change together. Please, chip in now! >>
