John,

One year ago today, three students were killed in a shooting at Michigan State University. Their young lives were taken far too soon. We share in the anguish of their families, friends, and the MSU community who are still grieving.

Following the events of February 13th, the MSU chapter of MFOL organized their community, eventually leading to Governor Gretchen Whitmer signing new gun safety laws that are the most significant firearm restrictions Michigan has enacted in almost 30 years. And we're going to keep honoring them with action.

Let’s be clear, though. The new legislation was the floor – not the ceiling. Guns remain the leading cause of death for American youth for the third year in a row. Our work in Michigan and across the U.S. is not finished.

For lawmakers to truly honor the victims of MSU and the thousands of others killed by guns each year, they must pass legislation that puts an end to this deadly epidemic.

We’ll never stop fighting to put an end to gun violence.

In solidarity,

March For Our Lives
