Dear John,
A new name in your inbox might be sparking some curiosity, so I’ll get to it: I’m Ricardo Hernandez, the Innocence Project’s new Director of Digital Fundraising. I joined the team because I strongly believe that one of the best ways to transform our criminal legal system is to amplify the voices and tell the stories of the wrongfully convicted and incarcerated.
In my role, I have the privilege of partnering with our incredible community of supporters to help exonerate more innocent people and transform a system that negatively impacts the lives of so many.
This isn’t my first job in digital fundraising, but along the way I’ve learned one thing over and over again: grassroots gifts, especially recurring ones, truly are the lifeblood of an organization like the Innocence Project. Consistent support enables us to plan ahead, allocate resources effectively, and propel the innocence movement forward in ways that would be unimaginable without a community like this one.
John, when it comes to exonerating even more innocent people waiting for justice, any amount you can give will help us in our pursuit of justice. Will you help us get 2024 off to a strong start by chipping in today?
As we kick off 2024, our attorneys are already working tirelessly on a docket of 200 cases across the country. I’m energized and inspired by the support of our community in 2023, but much more is ahead.
John, I’m asking you today if you’ll consider deepening your support by making a donation to help us fulfill our mission of freeing the innocent and championing the creation of fair, equitable systems of justice that benefit everyone. Can we count on you today?
Thank you,
Ricardo
