Here’s what Kurt discussed with Hugh Hewitt:
The budget process in Congress is broken. The outdated Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 has led to inefficiencies, delays, and skyrocketing deficits and debt.
A new solution in the Comprehensive Congressional Budget Act. This bill makes a fundamental shift in how budgets are managed, requiring all of federal spending be budgeted for together along with revenue. By emphasizing accountability and common sense, this act aims to rein in deficits and debt through better budgets every year.
Implementing will require buy-in. It requires bipartisan support and a concerted effort to shift the focus towards problem-solving and results. However, we understand the importance to America’s fiscal future and generations to come--by championing this cause, we can work towards a Congress that respects taxpayer dollars—and respects the facts of math!
Talking to Hugh is always fun, and I enjoy watching his show too.
