What we've been up to at Best for Britain
Part of me had hoped that by the next time I wrote to you we might be a little closer to knowing when the General Election will be, but frustratingly we are no closer.
But what we do know from our own polling is the significance of 'Don’t Know' voters to the electoral prospects of both parties.
So read on for my thoughts on tactical voting, and my question for you is, do you know whether you need to vote tactically at the next election to achieve a change of government?
The Polling
As you may have seen, not long ago we got the results of our megapoll <[link removed]> which revealed that 63% of people think it’s time for a change of government <[link removed]> - this is a staggering figure, but one that comes as no surprise.
What sets this particular polling result aside from previous findings is that this 63% is a product of resounding consensus among all demographics, from age to religion to ethnicity to income level to name just a few, including those in demographic groups ordinarily in favour of the Tories.
But, and yes there’s always a but! Of the 25,000 people we polled, 56% of those who said they don’t know how they will vote told us want a change of government. This means there are potentially 2 million voters in the country who want change but remain unsure how best to vote to achieve it. The solution? Our tactical voting site, GetVoting.org <[link removed]>
Why should I vote tactically and what is GetVoting.org?
We shouldn’t have to vote tactically but it’s a necessity thanks to our broken First Past the Post voting system.
As I wrote recently in The New European <[link removed]>, tactical voting in marginal constituencies could be the difference between a narrow loss for Sunak, which could see the Tories return in five years, and the kind of earth shattering collapse that previously saw them banished from power for more than a decade. And this is where GetVoting comes in.
Once launched (and of course who knows when the election will be!), our site GetVoting.org <[link removed]> will help voters get it right by providing the right information, and most up to date data to make an informed decision at the ballot box. It will show you key statistics for your constituency, on everything from ambulance waiting times to crime levels and vital information on boundary changes, and the new ID requirements.
So, make sure you are signed up for alerts for GetVoting’s launch and donate to our General Election crowdfunder <[link removed]> or join our monthly supporter club if you can <[link removed]>, so that when the election is finally called, we are in the best possible position to get rid of this Government.

Safety of Rwanda Bill
Last week we asked you to write to your local newspaper to help us fight back against Sunak’s human-rights breaching, 'Safety of Rwanda' Bill.
Not only does it have clear moral failings, the Bill threatens the recently restored power sharing institutions in Northern Ireland and so we can’t sit by and let Sunak and his Government push this country into further turmoil.
This week, our fears have been echoed in a report released by the cross-party Joint Committee on Human Rights who argue that the plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda is “fundamentally incompatible” with the UK's human rights safeguards. <[link removed]>
A massive thank you to those of you who have already sent letters, and if you haven’t yet then visit our website here <[link removed]> to write a letter to your local newspaper, and help us stop this Bill.
As always, thank you for your unwavering support of all Best for Britain does. With the election upon us we need it more than ever and it is both reassuring and inspiring to know we have the weight of supporters like you behind us.
Best wishes,
Naomi
