Hey John,
Well, they’re at it again. This week, Congress is planning to hold a secret session (and there have only been 5 secret sessions in the past 200 years) to expand warrantless surveillance of Americans.1
If that’s all you need to hear to take action, we’ve made it easy to call your representatives here.
CALL NOW
Despite clear opposition from civil rights, immigrant, and racial justice groups,2 the House of Representatives is about to consider expanding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, aka FISA, and its notorious Section 702 that has scooped vast swaths of the American public—including activists, journalists, and immigrants—into a warrantless dragnet.3
If we make some noise, we might actually be able to close some loopholes in FISA—like a data broker loophole that allows the FBI, CIA, and NSA to buy our intimate personal data from data brokers without a warrant4, and a backdoor search loophole that lets them search Americans’ phone calls, text messages, and emails even though this is supposed to be the *Foreign* Intelligence Surveillance Act.5
So can you call and tell Congress the FBI needs to GET A WARRANT?!
CALL NOW
When you call, we’ll give you a simple script to follow, and it already includes how no one appreciates them hiding bad, unpopular legislation behind a secret session, and that secret session or no, you demand that your reps stand up for your privacy rights!
For our rights,
Lia and the team at ❤️Fight
