It’s one of my favorite days of the year

Happy Fat Tuesday, Team.

Today, I celebrated one of my favorite days of the year: Pączki Day.

Pączki (pronounced poonch-kee) are jelly-filled Polish pastries and are a traditional treat on this day. John introduced me to this holiday and we celebrated this day with so many others throughout our time together. It’s one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds me of John’s important Polish traditions and the times we got to share our traditions with the community.

This long-time tradition marks the start of the Lenten season. Rituals and traditions in our communities matter to me. They tie us together from generation to generation, keep us connected in many ways, and are a reminder of the importance of respecting cultures and backgrounds that help make this nation strong. Understanding and learning from our rich heritage brings us together as a community.

As I talked about the importance of community and coming together today with others in the district, we reflected on the importance of this year’s election. When voters in our district turn out to vote this year, they also need to vote for Democrats from the top of the ticket all the way down the ballot. Together, we have an important job to reach and inspire voters across our districts.

I want to see myself and Democrats win in November, but I need your help to get the job done. Can I count on you to make a contribution to my reelection campaign today so we can turn out voters this November?
