Dear friends,

I write to thank you for the well wishes I have received regarding my post-surgery recovery. The outpouring of support and love has been truly heartfelt and has re-affirmed my faith in humanity.

While I truly appreciate what has been made of my casting the deciding vote to prevent the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas, in the final analysis I was only doing that which my constituents entrusted me to do – vote my best judgment on the issues of our time whenever possible.
