------------------------------------------------------------

Stop The Bleed Coalition || Feb 13, 2024

As the STOP THE BLEED® Campaign has grown in its reach and engagement, so has the Coalition, developing new programs, new tools and resources and more partnerships, to support the growth and impact of STOP THE BLEED®. The Coalition’s ability to do all of that rests upon the support it receives from a wide range of individuals and organizations, including corporate sponsors. The Coalition is thrilled to announce their 2024 sponsors, whose contributions will fuel this year’s work.

Rescue Essentials ([link removed]) is a first year sponsor although they have been active in the STOP THE BLEED® campaign for several years. They offer a wide range of STOP THE BLEED® products, including training equipment.

SAM Medical ([link removed]) is also a first year sponsor. The company makes the SAM XT tourniquet, one of only three STOP THE BLEED® licensed tourniquets.

Tactical Medical Solutions ([link removed]) is a third year sponsor. The company makes the SOF® Tactical Tourniquet, another of the three STOP THE BLEED® licensed tourniquets. Their ongoing contributions have included event support, STOP THE BLEED® training as well as marketing, product and financial support. Companies like these are part of the growing number of organizations that make up the Coalition - all helping the campaign grow. We look forward to working with each company’s team to continue the Coalitions mission.

** Northern Arizona Healthcare donates dozens of Stop the Bleed stations to Flagstaff schools
------------------------------------------------------------

AZ Central || February 7, 2024

Students and staff across the Flagstaff Unified School District will be better equipped to respond to life-threatening emergencies thanks to a gift from Northern Arizona Healthcare.

The hospital system donated 43 new bleeding control stations to be installed in all 15 schools across the district in addition to administrative offices and Camp Colton, an outdoor environmental education center run by the district.

The stations will help stop life-threatening blood loss during an emergency.

“These Bleeding Control Station donations are an important obligation to our community in helping keep students safe," NAH’s Chief Philanthropy Officer, Larry Kushner, said in a statement.

"We know that lives can be saved if people are trained properly on using these stations during an emergency, and we hope having these stations at each school will give families in Flagstaff peace of mind," Kushner said.

Flagstaff Medical Center's Trauma Center runs the community STOP THE BLEED® training program to help educate people on basic actions that could save a person's life in an emergency in the time before first responders arrive on scene.

The Oral Surgery Club at Meharry hosted a highly successful STOP THE BLEED® event. STOP THE BLEED® was influenced by the Sandy Hook crisis, and the result of a collaborative effort led by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) to bring knowledge of bleeding control to the public. Despite sacrificing their Saturday, dental and Physician Assistant students eagerly attended the event to learn crucial information on saving lives during bleeding emergencies. The event provided a fun and informative experience for the attendees. Certified instructors led the course, teaching participants how to promote wound hemostasis through hand and tourniquet techniques. The event emphasized the need for individuals to empower themselves by learning life-saving techniques that could not only save someone else’s life but also their own. Being prepared, proactive, and part of the solution is crucial in facing such emergencies. Overall, the STOP THE BLEED® event at the School of Dentistry
was a resounding success, providing attendees with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively to bleeding emergencies.

From Instructor Barnes at @rcccedu “A very successful day of training at RCCC today. The team from UNC Air Care were absolutely amazing, extremely knowledgeable and eager to teach. We had students from Northampton County, Halifax County, Green County, Edgecombe County, Dare County, Bertie County, Nucor Steel (Hertford County), Nash County and more.

Huge shoutout to Vito & Sons Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, Bradley Construction and Remodeling, and Roof Masters NC for sponsoring the lunch, drinks, and snacks for both events. Without local companies like this stepping up, these things wouldn’t be possible

Above all, thanks to UNC Carolina Air Care for sending amazing educators to lead the way, and thanks to all the agencies and students for participating.”
