All this has grown from what began as a local movement in Bryan-College Station, Texas in 1999 – the year a Planned Parenthood abortion center opened their doors in our town.
Frustrated, exasperated, and even angered by this growing loss of life in our own backyard, four of us bowed our heads in prayer around an old wooden conference table.
And we asked for God’s guidance…
That’s when the idea came to us to start a campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil for 40 straight days and nights outside this killing center in our town.
God answered our prayers.
That first local 40 Days for Life saved more than 100 babies and got over 1,000 people involved. In 2007, we launched the first coordinated 40 Days for Life campaign.
Now we host a national Fall Campaign and a Spring Campaign every year – with over 1,000,000 individual participants. Today, I’m asking you to join us.
I realize not everyone is able to stand vigil at an abortion center – though if you are able, we’d love to have you.
You can still make your presence felt… you can still help to save preborn lives… you can still be an integral part of 40 Days for Life.
How?
First of all, by doing whatever prayer and fasting you can do from home during our upcoming campaign.

Only God knows whose life your flag will touch… maybe a pregnant mother, maybe a clinic worker, maybe an expectant father, maybe a family member, maybe a news reporter, maybe a janitor, maybe a passerby, maybe a young person who is confused by the lies they’ve been told about abortion…
…or maybe a 40 Days for Life participant whose resolve will be strengthened when they realize they are not alone because you are united with them in prayer.
