President Biden's initial judicial nominations marked a promising start towards a more representative judiciary and a repair to the damage caused by Trump appointments.

His choices, including trailblazers like Ketanji Brown Jackson, brought much-needed diversity to the bench. However, a combination of Republican obstruction and delays in making nominations has led to a significant slowing in the rate of confirmations.

2024 is a critical year to reverse this trend and start confirming judges at a record rate once again, John. The goal is clear: confirm over 70 judges to not only match, but to exceed the Trump administration's total of 234 confirmations, ensuring a judiciary that is not only balanced but reflects those it serves more accurately.
