For many years, the ACLU of Wisconsin has been engaged in Election Protection efforts alongside a broad coalition of non-partisan organizations across the state. With our partners, we work to ensure easy, fair, and safe access to the ballot box for every single Wisconsin voter. We do this by working with our coalition partners to provide individual assistance through the Election Protection Hotline, by monitoring and addressing systemic issues affecting access to the polls, and, when necessary, seeking relief for voters in the courts.

But none of this is possible without the help of hundreds of attorneys and election observer volunteers in every election year, covering every corner of the state. Sign up now to volunteer for the April 2 and November 5 elections. <[link removed]>

Election Observers

Election observers play a crucial role in monitoring elections for systemic issues that are impacting voters. Election observers come from all backgrounds and need not have any specific expertise. In coordination with our partners at the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, ACLU volunteers will be provided training and assigned to cover specific polling places during the election. We are seeking ACLU volunteers to serve as election observers in every community across the state, but especially in:

* Racine

* Green Bay

* Kenosha

* Wausau

* Southwestern Wisconsin

* Northeastern Wisconsin

Attorney Volunteers

Attorney volunteers also serve a critical role by providing mobile poll monitoring during elections, helping to respond to and address issues reported by Election observers and to the Election Protection Hotline, and, in rare cases, stepping into court with the help of the ACLU legal team and its attorney coalition partners. Attorney volunteers also receive training specific to voting rights and democracy defense. If you are a licensed attorney in Wisconsin, especially in the geographic areas listed above, please consider signing up to assist our legal team's Election Protection efforts.
