I’m writing with great news from Washington. This morning, the Senate voted 70-29 on a broad bill that fully funds the president's $14.3 billion emergency aid request for Israel.
Together, we have been lobbying Congress to pass this vital assistance to ensure Israel has the resources it needs to protect its families and win this war. After millions of our calls and emails to our elected officials, this aid is one step closer to becoming law.
This aid bill fully funds lifesaving security assistance for Israel — without added conditions — and also provides important humanitarian aid with a critical provision preventing any money from being distributed to UNRWA.
Today was a milestone first step, but we have much work still to do. This bill now goes to the House for its consideration, and every indication is that the legislative process will be long and challenging.
We must now redouble our advocacy and engagement in the very difficult weeks ahead as we urge the House to work with the Senate and White House to move forward quickly on a final bipartisan package that can win congressional approval and be signed into law.
Please take two minutes today to email your representative and urge them to support this critical funding for Israel’s security.
Thank you for all you are doing to ensure America stands with Israel.
Sincerely,
David Gillette
