Forget-me-nots for February, Poynter style
February is charging ahead — the Super Bowl is over and the days are getting longer, but it feels like maybe there's something you're forgetting. Hmm.
Was it to sign up for the second session of Beat Academy's Extremist Politics: How to report on powerful undercurrents in the 2024 elections ([link removed]) ? (Attending puts you in contention for an expenses-paid trip to Chicago ([link removed]) and one of three $10,000 grants.)
Maybe it slipped your mind to finish your entry in the Poynter Journalism Prizes ([link removed]) , which closes Friday.
Or perhaps you need to complete your application for Transforming Local Crime Reporting Into Public Safety Journalism ([link removed]) .
Or maybe you forgot that tomorrow is Valentine's Day? Oops. (If you did forget, here are Wirecutter's favorite last-minute Valentine's Day gifts ([link removed]) .)
And if Valentine's Day isn't your holiday, consider staying in and watching one of our favorite journalism movies ([link removed]) with your special someone. Is there anything more romantic to a journalist than Woodward and Bernstein?
