Register to join us for a panel discussion in honor of Black History Month
Dear New Yorkers,
It is my pleasure to invite you to an important panel discussion on the Cost of Discrimination in honor of Black History Month.
Black New Yorkers continue to face economic disadvantages at a scale disproportionate to their neighbors. At a time when home ownership, access to higher education and well-paying jobs seem illusive, what actions are needed to achieve the real progress and prosperity that will address the stark racial wealth disparities in New York City?
The Comptroller's Office will address these hard-hitting questions via candid discussions with Black leaders as we close Black History Month in the Auditorium at the historic Schomburg Center on Monday, February 26.
Panelists will include Jason M. Clark, Executive Vice President, NYS Division of Minority and Women's Business Development, Empire State Development Corporation, Kirk Goodrich, President, Monadnock Development LLC, Michelle Crentsil, Political Director, New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) and Yvonne Stennett, Executive Director, Community League of the Heights (CLOTH). Food and refreshments will be provided by Jacob Soul Food Restaurant and VeganHood.
The Schomburg Center is located at 515 Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem and the event will start at 6 p.m.
As space is limited, early registration is strongly recommended.
