There’s a competence crisis at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Last week, Special Counsel Robert Hur, whom Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed to investigate President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, released a lengthy bombshell report following his months-long investigation.
According to the 388-page document, Hur’s investigation "uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen." These materials included "marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods."Â
Where did Joe Biden store these classified documents? In "the garages, offices, and basement den” of his Wilmington, Delaware mansion.
These documents have been lying around for years — in some cases decades — dating back to Joe Biden’s time as Vice President in the Obama Administration (2009-2017) and U.S. Senator for Delaware (1973-2009).
Keep in mind, presidents have the authority to declassify documents — but vice presidents and senators do not.
Clearly, Joe Biden mishandled sensitive, classified documents.Â
Yet Special Counsel Hur declined to recommend criminal charges against the President, claiming Biden is not mentally fit for trial: "We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory." According to Hur, Biden couldn’t remember key details during interviews with investigators, including when he was vice president or when his son Beau died.
Folks, if Joe Biden is not competent to stand trial, then he is certainly not competent to lead the free world. Americans deserve the truth about the mental state of our Commander-in-Chief, which is why I’m demanding that the Department of Justice release the transcript from Special Counsel Hur’s interview with President Biden.
To make matters worse, Biden held a rare press conference hours after the alarming report was released in an attempt to show the nation that he is mentally fit to be President of the United States. Yet it was a total trainwreck; Biden snapped at reporters, couldn’t remember a touching detail related to his late son, and referred to the President of Egypt as the President of Mexico.
I have serious concerns about the President’s ability to lead our country, especially as Commander-in-Chief. Please know that I will continue closely monitoring this situation, and I remain committed to delivering transparency to the American people.
