We are happy to announce that two of our amazing staff members are moving into new leadership positions here at TFN!
Carisa Lopez (she/her) , formerly Senior Political Director, has accepted the role of Deputy Director — and Rocío Fierro-Pérez (she/her/ella) , formerly our Senior Political Coordinator, is now our Political Director .

As Deputy Director , a new position on our senior leadership team, Carisa Lopez will oversee TFN's day-to-day work to ensure we meet our organizational goals. We're thrilled to see Carisa move into this new position as we continue building our organizational strength and capacity.
Carisa got her start in community activism in college, working with Texas Rising's student chapter at The University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, she went on to join TFN's Board of Directors and work full-time in Texas politics. She worked for the Democratic Party, in the labor movement, and on political campaigns before coming back to TFN over five years ago to serve as the Senior Political Director.

As TFN's Senior Political Coordinator for the past three years, Rocío Fierro-Pérez has helped develop our legislative lobbying, policy, and electoral strategy at the statewide and local level — and we're excited to have her step into the Political Director role.
Rocío is a Mexican, American, immigrant, queer woman, first-generation college graduate, proud fronteriza, and Texas Rising alum from El Paso. She also serves as the board director and chapter president for Austin New Leaders Council, where she leads the chapter to develop, connect, and uplift inclusive, cross-sector leaders from all backgrounds who aim to transform our country through social and political change rooted in equity.
