We hope you are all well and following government guidelines to stay at home. If you do go out please practice social distancing and wash your hands frequently.

There are many unknowns right now and we understand that this is very stressful for everyone. One way to deal with some of this stress is to keep in contact with one another as best we can and continue to prepare for the 2020 election. Therefore, we wanted to share the following digital resources with you.

Please take a moment to check out three facebook groups that we will be using over the coming weeks and months to continue our organizing, keep you informed about what is happening in our community as well as provide meaningful social connection for our membership and volunteers.

Broward Democratic Party Community Support Forum

Our Recording Secretary and resident epidemiologist, Melissa Ward Peterson, has launched an online Facebook forum to help us cope with the anxiety and stress we feel in this difficult period. This will be a coronavirus, politics and trump-free zone and will be a space for social connection and community building amidst our new reality of physical distancing. This group will be moderated by Melissa. She and others will be posting content related to wellness and provide opportunities to connect virtually with one another.

Greater Broward Democrats Grassroots Action Forum

The Florida Democratic Party has launched an official Grassroots Action Group for Greater Broward.

This is a Facebook group and grassroots organizing hub for Democrats where you will find actions you can take, participate in campaign trainings, and find resources.

This group is moderated by our Second Vice Chair, Jeff Pole and Florida Democratic Party Field Organizers, Lucas Ferreira and Margarita Hernandez. This group is NOT for sharing news articles, miscellaneous memes, or anything deemed by Admins and Moderators as irrelevant to the purpose of this group.

Please join the Broward Democratic Party News and Alerts Group on facebook if you want to keep up to date on what is happening with your local party.

This forum is moderated by BDP party leadership and is the official Facebook group for the local Democratic Party. It is dedicated to sharing updates about BDP campaign activities, updates from elected officials and government as well as important election information and resources for party volunteers and community leaders. 

DEC Members, party volunteers and local elected officials are welcome to join and to submit club and community updates, offer suggestions and ask questions.
