We’ll kick some Donkey butt, even if the GOP won’t.

John,

A few minutes ago I was officially “served” court papers announcing that the Texas Democratic Party is suing me. Since they cannot win on the basis of their ideas, they hope to destroy me financially.

That didn’t work out so well when a wealthy guy tried to sue me into silence... In the end, he had to pay me.

It hasn’t worked so well for a couple of disgruntled legislators who used the Texas Ethics Commission to try to silence our work. We now have the entire agency on the ropes.

We’re taking this latest lawsuit seriously, despite how insanely frivolous it is. We’re going to fight it, and win.

We don’t start these fights, but we always finish them.

So here’s the basis for the lawsuit. The Democrats are suing me because I was invited to a meeting in which House Speaker Dennis Bonnen and GOP Caucus Chairman Dustin Burrows tried to lure me into an unethical scheme [[link removed]]. I rejected their offer.

Yet the Democrats contend I need to be sued!

Bonnen wanted me to be his victim, and I fought back. By fighting back, the Democrats want to make me their victim; that won’t happen.

Interestingly, the Democrats are not suing Dennis Bonnen or Dustin Burrows. I guess that’s just one of the unwritten rules in the clubby crowd of establishment politicians. (Whistleblowers in Austin usually find themselves attacked by both parties—just remember [[link removed]] what they tried to do to former UT Board of Regents member Wallace Hall.)

If all this seems crazy... it’s probably because you aren’t a left-wing Democrat angling to take advantage of a corrupt situation created by a reckless Republican speaker and an incompetent Texas Republican Party.

The Texas GOP establishment could have already started cleaning up Dennis Bonnen’s unethical mess [[link removed]], but they haven’t. GOP party chairman James Dickey is dodging the issue and sycophantic legislators are covering for Bonnen. Since the Republicans aren’t doing their job to hold bad guys accountable, the Democrats are moving to take advantage of the situation.

We’re going to fight the Democrats, and we’re going to kick their Donkey butts to the judicial curb. I expect they will throw big money at us, and they will be suing us in the People’s Republic of Travis County—so no doubt the local Democrat judges will side with their political masters.

But we will fight. And we will win.

All of us at Empower Texans are honored to stand by your side in the fight for liberty.

For Texas!
