Please join us for “Talking About Suicide Prevention for the Black Community: Introducing the L.E.T.S. Save Lives Program.” The event will stream at 3pm ET on Thursday, February 15, at [fb.me/e/6jthM6QWE]([link removed]) and [youtube.com/afspnational]([link removed])
In support of AFSP’s new education program, “L.E.T.S. (Listening, Empathy, Trust, Support) Save Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention for Black and African American Communities,” we will be hosting a virtual panel conversation exploring the need for the program, which was created by and for Black people; the current data on suicide among the Black community; how the program came about and what attendees will learn; and how people can attend a presentation and bring this program to their community.
Moderated by AFSP’s Vice President for Health Equity and Engagement Victor Armstrong, MSW, panelists for this virtual conversation will include:
- Rhonda Boyd, Ph.D. –– Associate Professor and Psychologist, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine
- Keon Lewis –– Life Member, Pi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and Board Chair, AFSP North Carolina Chapter
- Markita Madden –– Programs Manager, AFSP Virginia Chapter
We hope you’ll join us for this important discussion on Thursday, February 15.
