Voting to Impeach Secretary Mayorkas
Last week, the House brought two articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the floor for a vote for his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and for breaching the public trust by violating his oath to well and faithfully discharge the duties of his office and his statutory duty to control and guard the border of the United States.
Secretary Mayorkas has willfully dismantled our border security, leaving our southern border and country in crisis. I haven’t forgotten what he did to his own border patrol agents in October of 2021. He knew that they weren’t whipping migrants, but instead of defending his agents and telling the truth, he lied to the American people to push Biden’s agenda.
This is one of the many reasons I voted to impeach Mayorkas. Unfortunately, this vote failed in the House by 214-216. However, we are working in the House to hold him accountable for his failures that jeopardize our national security.

Presenting the Congressional Award Bronze Medal
I was honored to present the Congressional Award Bronze Medal to one of our best and brightest, Danica Resha, from Baldwin County this weekend!
The Congressional Award is the highest award for America’s youth that the United States Congress presents.
Achieving this award requires the completion of significant milestones, including 200 hours of voluntary public service, personal development, physical development, and participating in an expedition or exploration.
Danica's exceptional accomplishments included a restoration project at Camp Benjamin Hawkins, learning American Sign Language, and adhering to a rigorous exercise regimen.
These endeavors exemplify the principles of the Congressional Award: young Americans dedicated to improving themselves and contributing positively to their communities. Congratulations to Danica!
